... way past where we were supposed to be and got to see the beautiful Christmas markets and decorations in the main square! Lunch was delicious- real German schnitzel with mushrooms and potatoes!!! Yum! Afterwards Beate took us back to the markets where we tried sugar-coated almonds and walked all the way down to the river :) We visited the Frankfurt Cathedral and walked the 328 steps up the Cathedral tower- haha a decent hike! ... little weird but good. It was funny having three languages on the flight - German, Japanese and English. Getting into Frankfurt airport was overwhelming as it was huge and was about four stories high! After having a pretty scary conversation with customs - a little different to in NZ, we made our way to the train station. We knew the stop we needed to get off at just not how to get there. We asked around a little ...

... my next flight. It feels like 4 in the morning for me, so I'm more than a little exhausted, and the hard plastic chairs aren't really conducive to sleep. The 45-minute security lineup didn't help, either. And everyone in this airport -- and on the plane -- seems to have a bad cough; I've been washing my hands obsessively but I fear that I may just be postponing the inevitable.

      Boarding momentarily. Next stop: Vilnius.

Barcelona and the trip back home.

... clerk unceremoniously motioned us to the side so that we could redistribute some items and make our bag legal. A bit of a drag but the ever efficient Gwennie quickly fixed things up and we were on our way to the gate.
