    ... oldest amphitheater in the world. Before all the ones we have seen so far! We also saw the minotaurs labyrinth. We never knew that the maze actually was the palace. It was a complicated layout! We then went up the mountain to see Zeus birthplace. It is a cave in the mountains. It represents his mother (rheas) womb apparently. The kids thought it was pretty cool.     ... the airport this afternoon and checked in to a tourist hotel called Hotel Sofia. Not fancy but perfect for overnight as we fly early AM to Athens. We are waiting as family from Crete will drive here tonite to dine with us.

    Looking forward to home but would like a few more days to see things we are told are worth a Drive in Crete like Chania and the Samaria Gorge----maybe next time!!

    ... baby on the way. We stopped at a taverna by an amazing beach. The food was very average, the beer was good, the water looked several shades of turquoise & quite choppy, the sand was golden and Lance got a rusty nail through his foot. They're shaped like logs about the size of an egg roll and they're essentially deep fried gravy. Not the healthiest food, but they were delicious.
