I'm now down near Interlaken and soon find myself cruising along the shore road of Lake Brienz. I am heading for the small town of Andermatt via the magical Sustan pass.

In all the times I have been to Switzerland I have only once ever found this pass to be open and clear of snow but with the weather as it is today there is no ways it can be closed with snow.

We're the guests of Trumpf this week, they're Ron's major laser machine supplier. We had a picnic in Austria at the pass before taking the long way back to ...

Quick entry to reflect a lunch stop in Liechtenstein. This tiny country is most famous for selling postage stamps, and the fact that almost every European tour operator includes a few minutes here so they can boast of another country visited. Now that I think about it, maybe that 's what we did :-)

... such beautiful autumn colour; green, yellow, orange and red in the liquid amber, birch and oak trees. In the thick of the forest, on the side of the street, we saw a large stainless steel door embedded in to a rock face. Marcello later told us that the door was the entry to a 1000 bed hospital built back into the the mountain and fully equipped to manage any situation which might arise. Incredible and so unassuming! Maienfeld is picture perfect and also where Heidi was ...
