... to buy chocolate. Great tip! Unfortunately they're closed on Sunday, like most shops.

Next we travelled down the highway to the town of Rapperswil. The walking tour was really only a stroll for two blocks. The guide took us to two rose gardens and pointed out the main church. Rain continued to fall, and there wasn't much to do as none of the stores were open. He pointed out the restaurant where we were supposed to have lunch (not included in the tour), but I declined. ... course lots of OMGs! As the pace slowed we were able to enjoy the Swiss alpine scenery - it's just magnificent riding through alpine forests - beautiful scenes around every bend. 'Inedible', was the first word uttered followed by facial expressions best ...

... of rumble dryer! Along the way there's lots of odd scenes. The Boomerang Bar in Walenstadt, the panel shop with old relics as planter boxes or the three-wheeler with its equally small caravan. At breakfast we met an English couple, Mike and Cathy. They were on the one week, three lakes, five countries ride and their ride today coincided with ours. Cathy explained they were late to cycling but love cycle holidays, this being their third. We arrived at Weesen in time for the ...

Today we planned to catch a local bus to a small alpine village that was somewhere high above us unfortunately we awoke in low dense cloud and mountains quite obscured and so a restful day instead. I think my body is starting to voice a need for stillness and rest. Apart from threatening conditions and perhaps as a consequence of indiscriminatingly drinking local water my stomach had decided it was time to rebel, not too ...
