... prosperous country which even has its own royal family who live in a castle overlooking the capital of Vaduz. It didn't seem unlike Switzerland to us, perhaps the buildings seemed a little bit more modern but otherwise pretty similar. We spent just one night in Liechtenstein and the next day rode our bikes from one end to the other and back again. We liked the idea of riding from one end of a country to another. A real novelty and like ...

... The police were waiting on the border of Liechtenstein, the guide said they were "looking for cars bringing in lots of money".

The bus dropped us off in a square. I promptly got my souvenir passport stamp (cool!) and looked for a few other souvenirs to bring home. ... menu and only one vegetarian option - salat (salad), large or small, Italian or French dressing. Just a little put out was our Lisa (sense the understatement) who ordered the small with Italian dressing. What arrived was lettuce, crated carrot, chopped frozen cucumber and a smothering of what's best described as Praise Italian Dressing straight from the squeeze bottle. 'Inedible', was the first word uttered followed by facial expressions best ...

Today we rode through what could have been the inspiration for those wonderful Hornby Model Train scenes - you know the ones - distant snow capped mountains, quaint villages nestled by the lake, green fields spotted with barns and gorgeous houses, rivers and bridges and lots and lots of trains! Unlike the Hornby scenes our journey included the smell of barn held cattle - phew what a stench! Our guide book said to follow 'Cycle Route 32' out of town. The challenge was finding any ...
