... countries flag looked like. It was sad leaving Fede... I told him that I wanted to take him with me... that he could come in my already overflowig backpack. He said if he were a Chinese gymnast he would :P He gave me so many kisses on the cheeks when I left - I didnt want to let him go... he was like family to Angus and I now. But we know we are going to see him again so we werent too worried. After "randomly" (I have accepted the fact that nothing in this world is ever random ...
Ljubljana, Slovenia reneedm... in Zagreb. It wasn't until we ventured into town a little deeper that we saw what it was all about. The old town has a pretty river snaking through it lined with gorgeous 19th and 20th century buildings. There seems to be a cafe for everyone and the feeling we got while walking through the cobblestone streets was very different than previous places. Maybe it had to do with the colder weather and low-season, but it was very chilled out. As we walked into the centre ...
Ljubljana, Slovenia meganandkevin... d found) Tabor hostel, where we stayed. It was more expensive than in other European cities - 17 Euros per person in a room for 4 people. From the highway you can get to a district of cottages (about 1km) by making a walking shortcut and from there you can get to the centre of Ljubljana by a bus No1. We were taken there by a local drunkard. The hostel we stayed at, included in its` price 20min of internet per person as well as a breakfast, thus at least we ...

Prevajanje, Slovenia spika16/8/07 Day 48 Headed off to Rijeka, no wonder it was hard to find on the map, they were trying to be kind but I guess we didn't get the hint. I have been in a foul mood from the time I got up, with Rob dancing and singing at me, to the time I went to bed so I maybe abit biased!! We arrive at what can only be called proper trailer trash land, everyone seemed to be permanent residence, with old caravans, wheels missing and the compulsory stray cats. The bins were near the ...
Ljubljana, Slovenia rob.jenn... day of looking around, but I've mostly milked the place of its main sightseeing. Other than the zoo and a few museums, the town's pretty easy to do in a day, so it's daytrip time tomorrow. About an hour and a half due northwest is the much celebrated town of Bled and its beautiful Alpine lake; it's regularly considered Slovenia's highlight, so I'm planning to while away a few hours up there. So long as the weather stays so nice, it should be a lovely place to visit.
Ljubljana, Slovenia xerius... found our way back to the train station and hoped on a bus to Amalfi and endured the winding hot stuffy bus with people vomiting because of the motion sickness. The coast line was very beautiful and Amalfi was pretty, with the cathedral in the middle of the square being quite stunning and the houses being built into the cliffs and the crystal clear water. The shops are full of lemon products like lemoncello and also the ceramics here are quite beautiful. However, it is not a place that ...
Ljubljana, Slovenia gemway... one of Slovenia's greatest architect's home (which is now a museum), Joze Plecnik. We were the only ones on the mandatory guided tour, and were amazed at the intimacy revealed in this museum. The house is preserved exactly as it was when he lived there (1921-1957), with work equipment, models, religious symbols, etc. still in their original place. Nothing was behind glass, and you could almost feel his presence as you looked at the bed, bathroom, and kitchen. He was ...
