... to a different hostel down the road on the basis that we had met the owners on the bus from Rio and they had seemed friendly. When we went to ask about rates for staying a few days I think the owner might have had a few too many cocktails as he agreed to a rate far lower than their standard price. The only catch was that in 4 nights there we had 3 different rooms, one of which was next door to the hostel bar!
