... of the guard of the palace and then did the hop on, hop off tour of Monaco. Learnt about the history and we went on the Grand Prix track. Afternoon at the Nikki Beach Club at our hotel, wondering where all these young people got their money or if they are using their parents. Out kids were certainly not spending the day drinking and smoking the shishapipe at a beach club in Monaco. Lots of fake boobs and some fake people. Off to the casino ...

Our last little bit of Italy. A heavy shower goes over and as we look ahead towards Pisa the clouds look ominous. As we pull into the coach parking area, a distance away from the tower, we are inundated with sellers of umbrellas. ... seafood spaghetti arrived instead of bolognese! After a short discussion, bolognese came minutes later. We finished our meal, plates were taken way and the bill asked for..... Then a few minutes later another waiter shows up with two plates...one seafood risotto and one bolognese! They just did not want us to leave! After waiting 20 minutes for the waiter to return to take our money, we headed off for ice cream and crepes. Tomorrow we head to Brussels! ...

The sun was shining, the sea was sparkling – we were in the ultimate playground of the rich and famous.


On board a Monte Carlo hop on hop off bus, we were able to take in where the wealthy play – a tax haven and home to one of the oldest and most famous Formula One Grands Prix – the starting grid visible as we drove past.
