The failed hunt for ceramics and Ognisanti involved my getting up and out before Jake saw the light of day. I combed a few ceramics stores looking for the "il professore" ceramic or something like it, but alas, no luck. In the first store I visited, the man gave me a lecture on how Amerigo Vespucci was superior to Christopher Columbus. It was most amusing! It is quite daunting with the tilt when you do look down as you get the feeling that you are going to fall. Unfortunately the fencing put up on the top hindered good photography shots but I guess safety is better than beauty?!?

... views of some really interesting nooks and crannies - we came down from the wall walk to see St Martin's cathedral - I had read about this church and was able to see the finger labyrinth (it's said to be a prayer device like a pair of rosary beads) on the wall outside the church, and the 'volto santo' (a crucified Christ, dressed in oriental clothing - legend has it that it was carved by Nicodemus, with angelic inspiration, and transported ...
