Arrived in Florence late afternoon. Went to a fabulous restaurant for stuffed! Great accommodations for Lex & I (gluten free). We walked a little bit but feel it's more run down. We have a tour tomorrow so maybe I will feel differently tomorrow. Hotel wi-fi stinks & too many on so can't seem to stay on ...

We went into the Palazzo Publico to study the art. During the last week we spent ime with our professor studying these very pieces. Let me tell you, seeing art that you know is sooo much better. the ability to decipher the parts and pieces of the masterpiece changes your perspective of its beauty. In this building, which ...

... the locals. It's a 50 minute ride, with scenery that is now becoming familiar and at €3 each way per person a very reasonable mode of public transport!

The bus dropped us right into the walled city by a different gate, so after reorienting ourselves and checking where we needed to catch our return bus, we headed into the narrow cobbled streets of Lucca.
