... proceeded to win the playoffs on the second round. Our prizes – a Noordam coffee mug and a Noordam water bottle – these are referred to colloquially as a Dam Mug and a Dam Jug respectively.
We set off at around 6 p.m. for Tunis – although we do have tomorrow at sea as it takes longer than overnight to get there. There was a wild thunderstorm – actually the weather hasn’t been great ...
And at long last we are on our way ... can't quite believe we are actually starting this journey after all the work, planning, talking .... And we know we've been to San Telmo many times before but this time it is different!! And so good to have Simon's old friends Max & Linsey onboard - after all they were really the people responsible for him ending up in Port d'Andratx to begin with.
St Elm, Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain sharkita... until Liam, a deckhand, poked up his head. He said he was sitting there the whole time, but I suspect he had fallen asleep since I had called out a few times when I first arrived.
After he lowered the passarelle and I was able to board, I jumped in the shower to wash off all the smoke and sweat of the night and was soon in bad.
The next day I went with a few of the girls to explore more of the town and to browse some of the shops. They ...
We arrived in Cala de Calobra around 5:30. We anchored in the small bay and took a tender to shore. The little village has a small pier along one side of a steep hill and the village is crowded on the hillside raising between two much larger and steeper hills. The whole thing looks like some Hollywood set because of its idyllic setting on the small bay. There are several bars and restaurants where we got drinks and ate an early dinner.
sa Calobra, Balearic Islands, Spain mylifesjourneyThe night before all of the guests, Stee and I went to a dance club in Ibiza. We didn't arrive back onboard until close to 7 AM. We then began our cruise to Mallorca, the island just north of Ibiza. The crew had food for those who were hungry, but most of us went straight to bed.
Just after noon, around five hours later, we arrived off the coast of the playa ex pregons gran, a nudist beach just a few ...
... up at me and stare. I ask in Spanish if anyone is working there. No reply. My Spanish can’t be that bad. Someone finally shows me a buzzer at the entrance. It turns out that there is a large group of mentally challenged people from France. The person working at the hostel says that there is a bed available. Yeah! It is $22 including breakfast. It is also 2 blocks from the beach in the main beach area, Playa de Palma.
There is only 1 guy in the room during my stay ...
This morning I went to the Sweet Fair with Romy and her friend Antonia. We picked up a lost puppy that was in the middle of the road and spent the next hour looking for a police or someone who would take him. Finally, we parked and made our way to the very busy fair which was full of stalls of pastries, meats, cheese, handmade clothes, jewelry, and even a bonsai tree exhibition. There was a street lined with hot cars proudly booming their stereo systems. I made ...
Portals Nous, Spain and Canary Islands whereshegoes... and flying back and forth from place to place. I tried to show him Buddy, the minature tree in my front year but I guess he wasn't big enough. I had mixed feelings about seeing my city under snow. I checked the weather and as far as I can tell, they are not under the carpet yet. So it must be pictures from another time but it was solid reminder of what I am in for. I have forgotten ...
Portals Nous, Spain and Canary Islands whereshegoes... and I couldn't help but do a little happy dance. Just after the sun went down, we ate some fruit on the garden patio and I noticed a planet visible in the distance. Alex and I debated on whether it was a planet or a star and settled on UFO. I couldn't believe that he has never seen a satellite! I decided that I would have to use my "sky watching skills" to spot one to point out to him before I left the island. I read a bit before going to sleep ...
Portals Nous, Spain and Canary Islands whereshegoesi visit spain so often but I had my first trip there at the tender age of about 8 months! haha!
needless to say I can't remember that particular trip but the subsequent ones really hit the spot with me!
I love Majorca because it has something for everybody. Mad nightlife, beautiful beaches and scenery, lovely people and not as "high rise" as main land Spain.
