After yet another very short night I fled Rio and it´s crazyness for the calmth of Ilha de Santa Catharina near Florionopolis. So we arrived in Florianopolis and discovered the instructions Katie wrote down were from the airport not the bus station and so we ended up taking an hour detour to the airport (getting on the wrong bus has been a major theme of this trip but hey its a free city tour!). We arrived in Florianopolis a lot later than we had expected and by the time we had got off the bus and found where we needed to head it was already getting dark. The hostel is very nice, and you should definitely check it out if you are in the Florianopolis/Isla Catarina area. Spent a lot of time on the beach at Armacao. There didn´t appear to be any, but there were loads of message boards saying something about crossing a rickety swinging bridge and there, on the other side was some kind of Backpacker place.
