We ended the day at the Menen Gate, listening to the Last Post, a bugle call that has been sounded here every evening since 1928, in memory of the British soldiers who have no known burial places. On our drive home we saw a part of a highway that simply ended in piles of dirt; work will not continue here because this was another place where the Great War was fought.     ... be having a much better race than yesterday thank goodness. I hung with them for the second and then Peter Alexander turned up with Emma and her cousin Jess, who is visiting from London.     ... to be sunny later but we did have to use the umbrellas for a bit. The Tourist Information at Brugge station was very helpful with a good map and instructions on how to get to the first and second boat stops for our canal tour. We found the second one and waited a little while for our boat but had a great tour of the remaining canals in Brugge. One of the bridges was a little low but no-one scraped anything!     ... wind is due to pick up and it will be easier for them. Although the chop may be much worse. Well, it's all a great experience for the kids to be challenged in a different type of sailing. The dinner was great, we had to sit alternately with the Tasmanian parents so it wasn't an us and them situation.
