Happy 50th Birthday Mom! This morning we woke up at about 9am, packed and ate breakfast before checking out of the hostel. Our plan for the day is to go to Monacco and Cap d'ail before leaving Nice. We got to the train station at about 11:15 and realized that the train for Monaco doesnt leave until 12:25 so we found a restaurant and just ordered some drinks to kill some time. Today is the day where John's master plan to get us and our four pieces of luggage, from Santa Margherita to Monaco, is put to the test. Step 1 - Drive from Santa Margherita to Genoa to arrive by 9.30am to drop off car rental car - tick. One small problem we did drive through a toll booth without the correct ticket, and now owe the Italian government $75 euros! Step 2 - Catch taxi from Hertz drop off to Genoa railway station - tick Step 3 - As we have arrived way ahead ...

This train trip was some 8 hrs and took in some of the most picture perfect coastline, including Montecarlo, Morocco, etc. The cliffs had Massive mansions there were many tunnels as it was very hilly. On arrival at Rome we still didn't have accommodation sorted although we did have a plan to head out of Rome to a camp ground. We were approached in the station by a lady and man who later we found out did this beat regularly - Mobil travel agent services. ...
