Mein Flug von Nadi geht um 22 Uhr am Sonntag, 16. August 2009. Ich fliege nach L.A. und nach einem kurzen Zwischenhalt von dort nach San Francisco, wo ich Dödle in ihrer Unterkunft treffen werde. Da ich die Datumsgrenze überquere, werde ich einen Teil des 16. August gleich zweimal erleben - ein kleines Highlight für mich.

... was our first full day in San Francisco and it was gorgeous. I slept okay if a bit patchy, and the temperature was bizarre as I was too hot under my duvet and too cold out of it, even the half and half thing didn’t help. But I did manage to sleep in till a bit later than I have been and we had an nice leisurely morning figuring out the kitchen appliances.
Charleise and Tedd, our hosts who live in the apartment upstairs, are amazing and so ...
... his camera before thinking of injury. He lost a fair bit of skin from his elbow, bruised his thigh where the camera had been 'saved' and skinned a little bit of his knee. I got him to sit still for a bit because he was shaken up and embarassed, and opened my bottle of water for him. He did want to move away because of his embarassment, so we wandered off. I noticed a lot of blood coming from his elbow, though, and felt we needed to deal with it. I took Ray to the ...

Dutton Estates was next on the agenda, we used our free sample card their and had a terrific Syrah wine. It was also a nice setting and we enjoyed the wine but they would not negotiate on their price at $40 a bottle. Too bad it was a good wine.

Pier 39 is also a lovely area that has a British seaside feel to it. Why would anyone from Britain want to experience the British seaside, I hear you cry!? Think nostalgic seaside memories, with fish and chips, seagulls and sea lions. Okay, the last one you wouldn't find too often in Britain unless you headed to somewhere like Blakeney Point in Norfolk but this is a star attraction in San Fran.
