Sunday 2nd March.
Breakfast at Terminal 3 - at 08.15 on a Sunday the place was busy. Where are they all going? It turned out that many were on our flight. Seems like San Francisco is popular this time of year.
Good flight with Virgin - excellent food ...
Last morning in Hawaii.
No rush. We walked to the restaurant where we ate last night, for
breakfast and then strolled back to pack. Once done, it was all down to a
leisurely sit in the lounge area, chat to Kim on Skype, update the blog and
drink coffee. At 1.45 we set off to the airport, dropped off the hire car and
got the courtesy bus to the terminal.
Alaska Air seems to be a budget airline, where you pay for your checked
bags and pay for any ...
... and it's not long before it comes along again. By the time we get on the next bus, our faces have thawed out and once again we are taken past places of interest, including Hippie Hill, which to me looks like a place for the homeless to gather. Past beautiful Victorian homes, City Hall and onto Union Square, where we get off again. The square itself looks no bigger than Magestic Square in Wanganui, and the shops are aplenty with department stores ...
... 39 is simply a rather tacky tourist trap but hey we are tourists for the day and you have to at least visit it once and then cross it off!
