#18 Octoberfest Munich OMG
... would have it (yes Facebook) KMS found out on Thursday while we were in Florence that some acquaintances from Lakeville were traveling in Germany and Austria. Long story short they were in town and w e met up with Rex, Maggie,Keith and Karen and had just a great time at Octoberfest. We met more people and had more fun rain and all. A few days in Munich
... an open-air marketplace where everything from gingerbread cookies to fresh fish is available. The strawberries, white asparagus, raspberries are all in season and a great price at all the local stalls. Lots of cheese, wine and meat deli stalls with every kind of cured meat and sausahe you can think of.
The Olympic site from 1972 and the BMW headquarters were on the list. We didn't have time to get back to visit ...
At the Marienplatz and the English Garden
... to post on the day I took them. Starbucks kicked us out at 9:20, do we started to head back to our neighborhood. We grabbed dinner in a little corner bar. He was out of bread....and out of potatoes....so he made us German pizza. It had ham, banana peppers, mushrooms, and was finished with a drizzle of balsamic glaze. Different, but very good! A moving experience.
I woke up early, was still feeling pretty bad,
but now more exhausted. I packed up my bag – suitcase. We had to
prepare a day bag as the suitcases would not be taken off the coach
at Munich as we were only staying for 1 night. After cramming
everything into the day bag and suitcase I went down to breakfast,
had a bit of cereal and toast, then went back to the room to take my
