But for our salad dressing, the lunch ingredients were procured at the only two small grocery stores in the village and at the only bakery (cookies and 3 eggs). Not wanting to buy a liter of olive oil and another liter of wine vinegar (the smallest containers available in the village for purchase), Jim was able to obtain a single paper coffee cup at one bar and ...

Anyway, we found what we were looking for and got back to hiking on to Navarrete. An 16 bed hostel room to ourselves was great. The guy could have put us into the other room that already had 6 people in it but was kind enough to open a second room for us. Surprisingly, no other pilgrims came to the hostel so ...

... off for campers arriving from or destined for Bilbao, which is one and a half hours away, and after us arriving early afternoon, the pitches filled quite steadily. The site is clearly popular with the Spanish too since most of the pitches appear to be taken up with long-stay outfits, some of which have been here for some time judging by the moss and other debris, currently unoccupied, with the owners presumably coming at weekends and holidays. After the odd ...
