It's 1140 and made it to Ciruena. A cold and dreary 16K walk with no sun. On the way met 2 pilgrims with dogs. And of course a number of pilgrims on bikes. No donkeys yet but it's not unknown. The outskirts of Ciruena comprise a golf club plus housing estate. Apart from a few pilgrims not a soul in sight!! Spent 45mins in bar with boots off. Heaven. Needless to say walk thereafter ...

Got into Najera at 1:45. That's 6 3/4 hours including brekky and lunch stops for 31kms, impressive given the terrain! Very glad I sent 3kgs of my stuff forward today, helped immensely and my feet are tired but not so angry with me. The calf still feels really "pingy" so I think I'll do it again tomorrow even though ...
