    Next day at Cagliari

... very serene. Will send photos when back in Cag.

Headed out about 4ish to the old part of town ,up to the Bastions of St. Remy, where we took a dodgy lift way up high at the top of the cliff to get to it! Was happy to leave that lift behind and explore the old unchanged and narrow cobbled streets. We discovered a Cathedral and hiked up a bit further to old remnants of a ...

Inside though the grass was green, there were large old Palm trees and Eduardo introduced himself, a young guy who owned the place. We went down for dinner at 8:00. I had the mussels, which were delicious, and Eldon had the prosciutto and melon balls, which were tasty too. ... for this as half board we ordered everything we could order. We sure couldn't begin to eat all of it. Eldon started with an appetizer plate of cheese and salami, and I had the smoked tuna and swordfish with a citrine dressing. Mine was delicious; Eldon's was the same as we had for happy hour.

Eldon then ordered the spaghetti with red mullet roe, and I had the spaghetti pomadoro. Both of them were delicious, but we ...

    The wrong Americano

... an americano. When the ordered arrived there was the tea, a bowl of crisps (a little weird) and then a cocktail with a straw. Our quizzical look soon had the waitress realising her mistake and disappearing with the strange orange cocktail but leaving the crips, however these also disappeared when the right coffee arrived. Apparently they also do a cocktail called americano. Sadly Cagliari comes across as an unloved place. Even the restoration of the Bastione San ...
