Hotel Corfu Sea Gardens Kavos

... chocolate-chocolate covered pretzels from my parents. Thanks mom and dad! (See? Again, I wanted to say mum and dad. I think I'm becoming an ex-pat. Oh, brother.)

The weather for the first two days was frigid. Down-right blustery. It's all anybody on the ship could talk about. Apparently we all were hoodwinked by the weathermen on that one. But finally today, the sun came out to visit and it was a pretty day. And tomorrow's high is expected to be 76 degrees in Athens ...

... there was another rally this time the Prime minister was making a speech in the square we decided not to hang around for it but went to collect our bags and go for some soulvakli.

The boat was due in at 9 but was late due to the weather conditions so we waited in the cafe at the harbour when we got there guess who was there only Brian and the American girls turned out they were getting the same boat as us. Brian was taking an unfortunate suspect back to scum ...

... I ordered about 4 meze each there was so much yummy food we had local sausage, cheese pies, saganaki of course, meatballs, fried shrimps and salad, tziki, break and wine all for 30 euro. We then went for a walk to the Listern its a street made of marble and all bars with seating along it where the people who want to be seen go so we sat there and watched the people walking past all glamourous ladys in amazing shoes and clothes its a cool place Corfu town.

... facilities and I went over to see how much it was 106 euros a night for a room which isnt too bad its a really cool place somewhere I would like to stay rather than here its cruel torture seeing all that luxery next door when I have toe nails and hairs in the shower ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Anyways last night so had a few beers with everyone and a Greek dinner of pasta shapes with cheese grated on top ha ha with that special Greek salad again.

Up early again to get the first bus of the day to Ionnia then on to Igoumenitsa then a ferry over to Corfu everything went according to plan and we made connections without to much waiting around when we got to the ferry port the ferry was leaving in 10 mins so that was a bonus. Its really hot still around 26 degrees most days so enjoying the warm weather and the Greek lifestyle. Apart from being bit ever five minutes ...

Just a quick note. Spent a fabulous day on Corfu. This is what you think of when you think of Greece. We rented motor bikes and crusied the island. I will update more when we get back to Rome on Tuesday.

Forecast not much better for next 3 days - and no boat to Italy that will allow us to stop off in Corfu. Ah well... starting to feel like things are coming to a slow end. We book for Bari for the following morning & do our best to amuse ourselves in uninteresting port!
