... hit the road yet again. We went to the nearby Hosios Loukas Monastery. We saw two churches that were very beautifully painted with fresco. During it's antiquity, many would scrap the eyes from the painted saints. Iconoclasm was common during the time because many didn't believe in the representation of saints and worshiping icons. Frustrated, we headed in search of the temple of Poseidon, forgoing any other museums for the day. The Pnyx itself is not terribly interesting, although it is nice to stand in a place and think, "This is sort of the birth place of democracy in the Western world, or at least the way we acknowledge it.
