... There is the most incredible sheen to them; some are from the 3rd - 4th centuries AD, and yet they look like they were created yesterday. Pretty much everything else in Europe has been - as Mat so delicately puts it - "covered in cherubs and gilt!", and it's unexpected to find a place so untouched through the Renaissance.
Next time we will make a few days for this lovely town.
... to 11 the big linebacker who plays a lot of slot and tight end. Reggie is on the coverage and the ball was high. 11 leaps up and catches it, leaving himself very exposed, while Reggie knife’s through 11 legs, flipping him upside down. 11 comes crashing back to earth upside down, the ball bounces out of his grasp, the crowd goes crazy and we are celebrating Reggie’s play. Except that bizarrely the referee’s have ruled that somehow it was a catch. It ...
Milano Marittima, Emilia-Romagna, Italy mavsqb1... the start. It was every show, not just the odd one. They were truly amazing and probably the best we’ve had yet. I imagine the finale was what it must be like at a rock concert - they rushed down the front dancing and screaming...all for me of course...and the rush it gave was brilliant.
Thank you so much Forli..you were great!
But no photos...sorry!
... Ok maybe no beeper, but an hour later I finally got to use the bathroom.
The service was nice, and contrite which is always appreciated, especially when I can’t understand much. But from what I did understand was that the baby was successfully baptized and if you don’t believe me I can get photographic proof from at least 7 different cameras.
We headed back to LeLe’s place and word on the street was that pizza was on the ...
Ravenna was a pleasant surprise. The town center is mostly pedestianized and using bikes to get around is encouraged with free loaner bikes at the tourist info center. You don't dodge cars in Ravenna, you watch out for bikes! So naturally this creates a quiet ambience in the town center made for strolling. The shops are on the upscale side and buildings have pastel colors to create a cheerful look. The highlight of Ravenna is ...
Ravenna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy okikuta... heavy. So that was my breakfast that morning. That's my brief description of Ravenna. Sorry that it isn't more extravigant, but it was raining and sad. But funny story, when my friends and I totally didn't know how to get to the train station and we followed our group leaders that we already told that we were not going back with them. It was really funny. Anyways, Bologna I'll write about it tomorrow.
... rather impressive, which I'll post shortly (the most impressive parts aren't on video, alas). Apparently the festival was rather important, as RAI, one of the national TV channels, was there, also interviewing a bunch of people at the seniors' home where Paola's friend, Sylvana works. Anyway, it was lots of fun, ate some good food (which I seem to be doing a lot of, go figure, or rather, there goes my figure). I ...
Ravenna, Italy joseph_hillier... If you get the chance, do see it. Probably in English would be your best bet. Mel would occasionally lean over to explain in English "oh that is so sad, the eggs only last on the ice for 2 seconds!" and the like, but beyond that I made up the rest. If you ever think your life is difficult, thank the Stork for not delivering you in the minus 40 degrees winds of Antartica as an Emperor Pinguino. Today I leave Tuscany. But not for long.... an ...
