... approached at a set of traffic lights by some people wanting to wash windows - no amount of saying no or flicking on the windscreen wipers seemed to deter them. As soon as the lights turned green we shot out of there - and although Louise was ****** at the intrusion she seemed to appreciate the fact that they had actually cleaned most of the front window!

Not sure exactly where, but we found a park on the side of the road in Milan. It happened to be ...

We all boarded a ferry. A travel blog entry by cindyrooks on May 17, 2015

Got up leisurely today and tried to find a launderette! Our hotel desk woman sent us to one close to the train station and after walking for about 15 minutes (without the clothes, luckily!) we found it but it was closed up. We will have to wait to wash clothes until we get to Normandy! After a breakfast at a small cafe, we walked back to our hotel and planned the next few days. We reserved a hotel in Rouen for ...

... au chocolat. The final leg was through mountains - everywhere looked like it would be bitter in winter.

We got to Milan at dusk and our driver was waiting for us. Very nice Ghanian fellow named Alex who whisked us away in a large Black Mercedes with tinted windows. Very chatty and informed. We drove through dire, shambolic rush hour traffic to the apartment and waiting for us was our landlord, Giuseppe, arguably the handsomest man Ive ever ...
