Although there had been some disaterous flooding in Cinque Terre the week before, we were planning on skirting that area and going to Genova a little further north. That was not going to happen. With pounding rain we were barricaded by the police from taking some roads that had flooded in La Spezia eventually getting out of town at dusk.

Spent the night in the seaside resort town of Viareggio. This resort is primarily used by Italians. The hotel was something out of those old movies where people took the Grand Tour. ... we decided to leave.. however the bartender called us over and talked to Justin for a bit (Justin knows good Italian). Then, Justin told us we were all getting free shots! Yay!
