Day Trip to Harlingen

Some of Alice's Diary Notes for Harlingen<br>" ..................We didn't realise how much time we had spend at the cemetery (locating the graves of Alice's infant brothers) so we took off and drove to Harlingen.  Harlingen is the harbour of Friesland and a gorgeous little place.  Lots of beautiful boats waiting to cross the Wadden which is the sea between Friesland and the islands of ...

A visit to Delft (not Dafft)

... houses, city hall and shops. We had dinner in the Center Square at a small hotel. There are houses built directly on the canals (the canals are very shallow). It is really interesting. Again, I had to watch out for bicycles--I swear I'm going to get run over before I leave, but at least I don't have to travel by one. (By the way, Cejae, Adam, Bucky and Melody: Gyongyi ...

The Beach

Ok so the bike that I bought... it sucks. I spent the night cutting through a tube I found with a butter knife to replace the main seat stem. After 40 minutes I was able to cut through the whole thing. It sucks not to have decent tools. This morning I woke up and the front tire was completely flat. That almost completely destroyed my plans ...

Bike tour and the rest of Holland

... still interesting. We then headed back to Amsterdam where our tour ended. It was really great to be able to see Holland's country side and other cities in Holland. Day 3 Brett and I were up early and enjoyed our second very amazing Breakfast from our amazing hosts then headed our way to Orange bikes where we were going on a tour of Amsterdam. There was only one other couple that would be taking the tour with us, and our tour guide ended being very ...

... breaks whenever I started to sweat. 5:30 finally came...and with it, a train. Picked an ICE heading to Frankfurt as it was the first thing available. Slept for almost the entirety of the trip. (Actually, it was cute when the lady came around to check tickets. I must've shot up and looked completely bewildered as I'd been so out of it. I remember searching in a fog for the pass, checking places that didn't even make sense, showing it to her and having her ...

The Hague

I took a day trip out to The Hague before starting work. While my guidebook calls it "Amsterdam's stern maiden aunt", the city had several nice museums. I made it to the Mauritshaus, the Binneof, and the International Court of Justice before my feet started to throb and I had to go home.

Amsterdam or Bust!

I blinked and Munich was over. Such a great time and I met such great people. I have a theory in life that good people attract other good people and this trip definitely helped solidify that. Our last night was super fun and we met some cool ass chics. The weather in Munich stayed beautiful for us. Just 2 days of rain, the rest were amazing. Arriving in Amsterdam in a bit, a little hungover but totally psyched. Thank you Munich for the time of my life!

... week or so, but that's no longer possible. My mother was kind enough to pick Sprite up from the shelter she was temporarily housed at, and my parents have buried her in their backyard with our other pets. At the end of August I also went to the annual "bed race" (where teams of 2 people push a mattress on wheels around a section of road for 2.5 hours to see who can make the most laps). I've also attended the past 2 years as well, but this time it was more ...

25 hours on Texel Island

... have been permitted to form and grow. We found a campsite in the dunes and pitched our tent just over the crest from the beach. We fell asleep Saturday night to the serenade of crickets and other critters and woke the next morning with the birds. Many of the dunes are protected bird habitat with 300 species nesting and breeding on there. There are many walking and biking paths through the dunes and along the paths ...

Belly dancing!

... the second class came in - they had only done one lesson before. So i joined this one, after donning Jose's blue coin belt, and gold scarf on my hips. It was so special...! There is a lot to the belly dancing - posture, how you hold yourself, the movementof the hips without moving the rest of your body. It is so difficult but so much fun. I really got into it, and i felt really invigorated and relaxed at the end! What a beautiful experience...
