... in this area where I am currently staying, are so generous. The other day, a big group of us in the program went to a little cafe called Cafe Teatro, and the woman there named Barbara gave all free little creampuffs made in the cafe. Every night, I sit down to a home cooked meal made by my host parents Ave and Luciano. Red wine flows freely and so does the conversation.

Monday afternoon I finally met my host parents. They arrived that day from Milan, where they had been visiting their younger daughter Nicola.
They are a wonderful couple. The woman's name is Ave and her husband's name is Luciano. Ave was born in Urbania and has lived here all her life, while Luciano hails from nearby Urbino, which is only about a 15-20 minute drive away. She owns a clothing and jewelry shop in town right ...
... of my kidnappers are attached to this entry. All night I kept waking up in a panic thinking someone was banging down my door. Turns out I'm still here, and hours away from where that happened. I'm hoping they were just some weirdos trying to annoy tourists or something, but Sydney and I were so freaked out yesterday!
That little fiasco didn't ruin the day though, it was filled with laughter, adventure, and Italy!!!

I'm already making some wonderful friends. I'm sitting with a bunch of great girls from Eastman School of Music in Rochester and a girl from Westminster Choir College. Their names are Jessica, Daniela, Rose, and Beth.
