... you were not completely visible when changing. Then headed down to the beach (again made of rocks) to go swimming. When I was done parking the van, I found Laura, Sam and Blake out hanging out on a floating pontoon in the deeper water. They were near the floating playhouse - inflatable slides, bouncing pad, etc - that had inspired interest when we first arrived. Brady and Bryce had already learned that you paid extra to use the 'fitness' ...

... bus along some winding roads up into the hills - while avoiding the on-coming cars when things got narrow. We also saw our first pair of nesting storks on the drive, so my passengers raised quite the cry as they sought out their cameras - fortunately we were stuck at a light for a construction zone, so I think everyone got their picture. At 9 am on a beautiful morning in Venice I decided to jump on a boat and head out to see the island of Burano. The first stop for the boat was Murano, where the famous Venice glass is made and hordes of tourists go there to watch glass being blown and buy little glass souvenirs from the factory shops. I've seen glass being blown a few times, and I equate it with watching grass grow or paint dry. You only need to see it once in ...

Lovely temperatures 25 to 35deg C. We have enjoyed our stay at the beach close to Venice.

On arrival we had several swims and relaxed with the beach less than a minutes walk away from the camper parked under lovely big trees.

Later in the afternoon we cycled to the end of the road (13kms) where the ferries leave for Venice. It would be best to catch the bus when we go to Venice. We enjoyed another swim and a cool ...

... see some things there and then head east to the beach. The bus timetable said each of these trips should take about 30 mins. Unfortunately, I also noticed that you can get to Burano from Murano, which I didn't think was true when I looked at the routes yesterday. Had I known I would've just tacked it onto the Murano trip yesterday and saved us a lot of time! Anyway, we had an idea of what we wanted to do and around 10:30 we set off. Now, part of the problem ...
