    ... the week - energetic morning exploring, long Italian lunch, slow afternoon meandering, salad for dinner at home.....

    While I'm not particularly a fan of bumper stickers, I do recall one with a simplicity and truth of message: "Life is better with a boat." And I shan't delve into quoting the oft used Grahame, but yes, messing about in boats is pretty good too.

    ... a lovely old place up the cobbled stone paths uphill ( thank god, downhill on the way back to the boat), a bit away from the maddening crowd. There's a few English speakers around so am pretending not to understand, what fun. Bellagio has similar history to Como, building evidence since 7th C BC. Situated on the lake at the intersection point of the Y. Car ferry available from Como as the roads look really narrow and windy. Only a small flat area at the port and then it's all ...
