... the castle, where I stop for coffee. It's very steep and my legs are feeling it. I carry on and eventually come out at tiny little lakeside town. It's a beautiful (though a bit difficult) walk with magnificent views of the lake from up high. More photos. Back down lakeside, I head back towards Varenna. I stop at Hotel Villa Cipressi for late lunch. Spaghetti with duck ragu and porcini mushrooms. ...

Anyway, got organised with info etc. The Internet is a bit hit and miss. Then went out to ...

... the back part of the island from the top, and see other towns on Lake Como. Finally, it is not too difficult to find a great Italian restaurant of your choice with a variety of price ranges in Bellagio. Grab a good table (Tip: be prepared to pay 8-10 euros table charge) and take in the sights of tourists shopping and enjoying Bellagio. We had a great lunch outside with a view of Lake Como at Hotel Metropole Bellagio's restauant, ...

... was had in the courtyard of a nice little restaurant by the lake, the name escapes me. After lunch we walked through Parco Civico that had some modern sculptures and the gates to Lago di Lugano. We walked through the shops on our way back up the many steps to the train station.
Back in Como and Rozanne wouldn't let us leave without buying us a gelati. I'm glad she did, because we all agreed that it was definitely the best one we've had since being in ...
