Just when we thought Venice was the most beautiful place we would visit in Italy, Varenna may have beaten it into second place. Neither of us can get our heads round the fact that we are actually seeing what's around us. The apartment is amazing and the views from the balcony alone are worth the trip. Claire has also befriended a blind cat so we keep having to think of excuses to go and see the lady so Claire can rub the cat.

But, for the many tourists at our ferry dock, It was somewhat mass confusion trying to figure out if the boat that is about to depart is going to BELLagio or MENaggio and why do we have to go to Bellagio when we really just want to go to Como? But we did indeed have to take the ferry to Bellagio, where ...

Coming down the other side we passed over the Brusio circular viaduct where the train does a 360 degree turn. Being in the last carriage I was able to get a good video shot of this as the train went over the viaduct and then around and under it. Just before entering Tirano we crossed the Swiss/Italian border.

Mistake 1 was thinking it would be quiet around here. Wrong in fact it looked like all the locals and others were happily going for a nice revved up motor cycle grand prix tour instead!

Mistake 2 was assuming that country drivers had more manners. Wrong, they were just as elsewhere! In a hurry, no road rules used ...
