Walked half way up table mountain today with Jenny, great views over Haut bay and surrounding mountains. There is a track that leads up from the back of the house through a pine forest onto the mountain similar to New Zealand.
Dok picked me up at 1 o'clock and we went straight of to the pub, met his family ...
We walked for about a minute, and I came to realize that the house where I am living was, ironically, right across the parking lot from where I had stayed the night before... ha.
Sly introduced me to Lindy, the woman who works for Rent-a-Room and manages the properties that VAC interns rent. She is a sweet African woman with her head wrapped in a brown scarf, like many of the women here. After looking over the rooms, I chose the one ...
... in Oudtshoorn. I was adopted by a girl who i was doing the dive course with and promptly put up by her and her parents, fed, taxied and around and shown all the sights and sounds of the KKLK art, music, food and market festival. There was so much to see and do and we even fitted in a girly evening of food and cocktails with her girlfriend. This was lovely but made me miss all my lovely ladies back home more than ever. As i have said ...
Cape Town, South Africa bellag... in the sun I went to work out again at five. This time my roommate from Kruger had the elliptical beside me so it was fun to get to work out together. I signed up to workout with her and her roommate Audrey tomorrow at the same time so it should be fun again tomorrow. At seven I went to Heather's volleyball game but unfortunately they lost. It was really a game of luck and who picked the best side of the court because the wind made the game ...
Cape Town, South Africa claudiv... didn't dissapoint. We drove through, around and past spectacular mountains with a gorgeous coastline unlike anything I've seen before. The beaches looked pristine. I was so very tired and I also had to wait a few hours to have a pre-trip meeting that I didn't go into the town itself. I'll have plenty of time to do that later. In the meeting I met my fellow group members which, much to my dissapointment, consisted of 13 girls and 3 boys! What is up ...
Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa travelbug15... number. And we've ben blessed by him. And his name was Leroy! ('Where d'ya get Leroy from' 'It's the black guy from 'Fame'.') We've actually had a brilliant week in Cape Town, we've done so much, even though the weather has attempted to interrupt proceedings towards the end of the week!! Twice we have tried to go to Robben Island and twice it has been cancelled due to rough seas! We made the most of Friday however, renting a car (which was ...

Cape Town, South Africa pmyers... is a possibility that the animals could come and either eat you or lick your face. We took a flight to Johannesburg to get out to Kruger Park (where most of the animals are). Our first night we stayed at a hostel and it was AMAZING! Absolutely beautiful, it was decked out with wooden pathways, huts, and an African theme. It was run by Tony (Toy-knee) and Tenis. They had a giant bonfire and a pool table, so we hung out all night doing that and hanging out with this ...
Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa wjphilip... You can call someone black, colored or white without having been referred to as ignorant or prejudice! Although i only spent 2 weeks here i feel like i soaked in a lot of information about the different races, their former system of government and the general social problems South Africa deals with today. Carrie and I spent a week in Paarl aka "wine country" working with orphanages and touring the local townships. We fed children at a elementary ...
