When we reached Andorra La Vella, we could see our hotel but it must have taken us 45 minutes to get to the road outside the front of it. In our quest to get there we must have rode along every road in the city!

We eventually managed to find our way and hotel is definitely the best one of the trip so far.

... is no snow on the mountains parts of the road and some of the views are breathtaking. The lower tunnel to Andorra is closed for maintenance so we climb even higher than might normally be the case. The tunnel at the top is over two Kms long and we emerge into the affluent, ski settlement of Canillo. It is an impressive sight. ... fishing in the wide upper shallow reaches of a dammed lake caught my eye.

The lake broadened after we resumed travels and we noticed the lake was an obvious haven for canoeists and other small paddle boats (although most of these were lying idle today - it must be a colourful sight when all are hired and scattered around the elongated waters hemmed on either side by imposing mountains.)
