So we conspired to have pizzas delivered, the hotel bartender/waiter, Pepe, stoked a fire for us in the library, and we all snuggled down into wing back chairs in front of a fire where we drank, ate, and laughed for hours. Pushing north from Anso today we passed a hive of other bikers despite the steady drizzle of rain, Spain crying for it seemed I was leaving her behind after our brief love affair. We stopped by at a BMW test day on the mountain top before crossing the border into France, causing much confusion in my ordering of food and such: "si, merci, no wait I mean oui, gracias", and so on. The plan originally was to head east towards Andorra but ...

We were awoken at 8:30 for breakfast as we wanted to be on our little bus at 9:00. It was quite a cool, windy morning (the Mistral) but still sunny. We drove about 30 minutes from where we docked at Arles to the Saint Paul Mental Institution where Vincent Van Gogh spent time. It was a very restful place, with beautiful gardens interspersed with examples of his work. There were sunflower and iris gardens and his bedroom as it was. ...
