... two gondolas later we were standing up there, in the thick of it. Now by thick of it, I mean, dense cloud condensation that perched right on the tip of your nose and the ended on your eyelashes. The rain came down and didn't let up and sadly we were unable to see this spectacular mountain range clearly. ... have a long way to go, and one member of our group groused that the route is nowhere as good as Austria's, that there is too much open road. They should visit the United States, they'd really be disappointed!!

... at the 100 yr old oak tree, someone else can stress about that. And I can swivel my head for amazing wood carvings and friendly potato farmers.
One aspect we do like is that this tour attracts mostly Europeans, so our little guided group is the Brits, an Aussie and Czech couple, and us. In the evening we see the Belgians, Swiss and Germans, and the ideas and stories flow, we get different views of the world. Very different than a cycling pod of Yanks.

... the lower ramparts -- and he roars, he really roars, there were actual little boys who were concerned about that. We even sw Cracow's beach. Now, this is imported sand on a hillside, handily overlooking a barge that has a swimming pool on it, but it's there. ... then you can imagine. We spent the afternoon getting a feel of this place and walked till we could walk no more. The local architecture is quite unique although has that same feel that mountain villages have in other parts of Europe. Steep roofs and many balconies and angles, probably to allow the snow in winter to spread itself evenly over the house. We are about as far south in Poland as we can go without ending up in Slovenia.
