I was quite fascinated to learn that he designed many of the forms by using an up-side-down line-model hanging little cotton bags of lead-shot that represented the vertical loads, and then cotton threads joining it all together to give the direction of the forces....

      The Day in Barcelona

A travel blog entry by dcparky on Dec 05, 2012

... we had to be back onboard by 4:45, so we figured this would be about right.

It took us about 20 minutes to walk from the ship to the Christopher Columbus monument at the foot of Las Rambles. Although the day was clear, it was a bit brisk with highs near 60 degrees and a stiff wind. We were both glad that we had put a couple of layers on! We spent the remainder of the morning taking the slow walk up Las Rambles, checking out shops and ...
