We arrived in Berlin around 8pm and checked into our hotel, which was a huge and spacious room. Our bathroom was the same size as our bedroom and bathroom in Hong Kong combined so we definitely made the most of it and was able to unpack and settle in. We weren't too hungry so we found a currywurst for dinner (definitely not as good as Cologne but …

Arrival in Berlin

A travel blog entry by lisandretrip

Not much to write today as we spent 5 1/2 hours on a high speed train to get to Berlin. We settled into our hotel, and found a great little Italian restaurant to get something to eat. It was really Italian, with 5 Italian guys hanging around us and all serving us. Now it is off to bed so we can tour Berlin tomorrow!

Historical Traveler Reviews Hotel Concorde Berlin

Stunning modern hotel fabulous room every area superb design.

We have just returned from a four day holiday in Berlin at this amazing luxury hotel right in the heart of the smart shopping area Kurfurstendamm and within quick walking distance to the beautifully designed metro system which runs at the speed of light to all the major sights of Berlin. This hotel has every comfort - lovely friendly faces greeting you at the door ready to do everything to make your stay impeccable to the friendly and helpful front desk reception staff assigning you to the magnificently designed modern quiet soundproofed room with its spacious comfortable bed, plasma television screen, beautiful bathroom and lovely decor. The breakfast is unbelievable - a true banquet and best enjoyed and treated as brunch because it has beautiful fruits of every kind, a selection of authentic muesli (which I usually have to provide myself) dried fruits, selection of milks and yoghurts, breads, pastries, selection of cold fish, cold meats, any type of egg dish you require, selection of teas, coffee and a glass of champagne which goes very well with your scrambled egg and smoked salmon. What can I say? No complaints here and a smart modern breakfast restaurant. Added to that the hotel restaurant Le Faubourg is also totally glamorous and superb and the piano bar lovely for a relaxing drink. And that's before you get out the door! Nearby is a wonderful place in Fasanenstrasse called Literature House with a garden and unbrellas over tables and chairs for coffee and cake, but the conservatory area in the building itself has the most wonderful breakfasts overlooking the garden and as this is a close walking distance to the hotel, its a must. The nearby Kempinski Hotel pavement Cafe which all the books rave about is currently under renovation so we were unable to enjoy that on this trip.

A touch of the old DDR

FIrst of all I'd like to say that I really appreciated the Concorde Berlin despite the headline/title of my review. Very nice and service minded staff. Fantastic breakfast. Well situated. I both liked and disliked the room. I liked it becauce of its space. The room was really huge. Great bed, nice bathroom, flat tv etc. What I didn't like about the room, and this critisism include all other spaces of the hotel, was the DDR-feeling. I mean this is a brand new big lavish hotel, but it feels empty in a way I can't put my finger on. A certain lack of warmth I guess. Everything was very brown and beige. Sterile. Some colours might have done it. Red perhaps...

Great rooms but falling short in other areas

i have stayed in this hotel 2 times this year and would go back again. particularly if were on business. The rooms are very large with modern high quality decoration (some standard rooms are as much as 60m2 (which is 2x the size of the raddisson in berlin) and are by far and away the hotels best feature.

    A Wonderful Hotel

We have just returned from a few days in Berlin and can't wait to return to this hotel. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in, with great, top quality, duvets and pillows. I particularly liked the way the very spacious room was designed; with a cleverly-designed storage unit separating the sleeping area from the superb (and huge) bathroom. I was able to plug straight into a high-speed internet connection in my room and there is a fitness suite with steam room and sauna on the second floor. The staff are friendly and helpful and all speak perfect English. The location is just right - on the K-Damm with good shops and restaurants close by and Berlin's public transport makes it easy to get anywhere else you need to go.

Following Tripadvisor members reccomendations, just stayed there in a very short business trip to Berlin. Booked a room at Executive level, very good service, both at the central lobby and at the exec. level lobby, friendly and warm. Held a business meeting at the 11th floor lounge, complimentary food and soft drinks and a very nice view. The hotel was not crowded so even that helped. I would definitely return and reccommend this hotel.

    Wonderful Hotel

Stayed there twice for several days on a business trip, moving there after staying only one night in the Swissotel which I disliked. The Concorde Hotel is brand-new. Beautifully appointed, large rooms which have a very pleasant division between the hallway and the bed creating a lot of coziness often lacking in traditionally laid out rooms. This gives a great feeling of privacy. Bathrooms are large and luxurious. On the executive levels the rooms have large plasma screens and the lounge is great with friendly professional staff, although the choice of food during the day is somewhat limited.

    5-Star hotel next to Kudamm

Nice hotel, large rooms, next to Kudamm, very friendly staff

    Very good but not perfect!

My husband and i have just returned from a 5 day visit to Berlin. When we arrived we were informed that our reservation was not found (which was actually our fault too, but that's another story) and we decided to stay the first night at another, very good actually, 4* hotel acros the Kudamm. Any way they found us a room for the next day and they checked us in early in the morning with no problem.

    Beautiful slick new hotel

The hotel is very well situated, and is beautiful inside and outside, in modern tones. The rooms are very big, the beds very comfortable and the bathrooms very well done (in our standard room, we had a bath and a separate shower).

The service was friendly, and from outside, the hotel looks like an American retro building. We have not tested the breakfasts or the restaurants, but overall we had an excellent impression, especially as they offer now opening rates, which are unbeatable.

We then stayed one night at the Westin Grand, which was much more classical, but the room was more comfortable at the Concorde.

    Excellent hotel

Stayed in this wonderful new hotel for 6 nights in early November, 5 days after it officially opened. Managed to book a junior suite for 200 Euros a night on the internet - which was a fantastic rate.
