We had decided to take the Ferry up to another village on the lakeside, but actually arrived at the Quay in time for an earlier ferry. So we ended up catching the 9:10 ferry to Urio. As we climbed on board, the rain started, and as we cast off, that rain changed to horizontal, so we abandoned to top deck to go downstairs.

We returned to the waterline and checked out return times for the ferry before wandering further around the edge of the lake where there is a lovely boardwalk and garden. I found a beautiful scarf at one of the shops along the main walkway. Bellagio and Lake Como in general is famous for silk, so there were lots of shops with beautiful scarves - it ...

... in Italy. Based on the traditional latin cross, and adnorned with marble, frescoes and paintings, it also housed a series of exquisite 16th and 17th C tapestries.

Pliny the elder and Pliny the younger, both of Pompeii fame, were born in Como......now that surely will win me a trivia game in the future!

Back on the "fast" boat to Bellagio, where we had apero by the lakeside before catching the bus back to Lezzeno.
