... had mostly collapsed. It was still very scenic though. We saw a sounder of wild boar (I confess I looked up what the collective name for wild boar was) trotting not far from the path just as the thunder was starting to growl in the distance. As we got back to Pescasseroli, the rain started. Although John had been the one to look up the weather forecast, he hadn’t thought to pack his waterproof coat. We sheltered under a tree for a while but it was raining ...

... Oil company Agip for over 30 years before retiring. His children were grown and he and his wife now spent their time travelling around Europe in their Fiat campervan, going home for summer before heading off again in the September (does this sound familiar!!).

Our walk took us up a steep valley up the side of Monte Rotunda at 1823 metres high and across the high meadows round the back of the hill where as a child, Pasetta used to bring family sheep to ...

I was called in behind the counter to process the paperwork and weigh etc. Then back into the queue to pay and prepare for transport. All seemed to go pretty smoothly. Will be interesting how it will be received by customs at the other end. Not a word of English was uttered to ...

... his wife are out today and the roads are clogged with Italian drivers. I have tried to remain open minded about the Italian style of driving. I appreciate there is a difference in culture but today my patience was tried to the limit. The driving is bad enough when the traffic is flowing but in a traffic jam, it is unbelievable. A typical Italian driver doesn’t seem to bother about lane markings at the best of times so why use the three lanes on the ring road when ...
