... market, but we only had one night there, barely enough time to enjoy the atmosphere. Compared to other markets and such, we found shopping was better in Innsbruck compared to Munich. Swarovski crystal originated here and so that was also a big shopping draw. Their most recent orb for Christmas is exquisite!
While in Munich, I took a side trip without Jon to Salzburg, Austria. I've always wanted to visit Salzburg ever since I saw the "Sound of Music". Our ...

... since September and won't reopen until May so the tour groups had to get there crystal fix at the store in Innsbruck. It is really quite a large store with some magnificent pieces.

covered mountains but looking ahead towards Innsbruck the towering dolomite
peaks just look totally amazing. I really never thought there was much to see
around this area but it just goes to show you don't know until you go see.
I stopped at one town and stood there for about 20 minutes or so just
taking photos and watching ...

The Alps and Skiing on a Glacier!

... we got up early to get our ski on! (I am never saying that again btw) We made a nice breakfast and made our way to the ski rental place. I have been skiing before, and I know how expensive renting ski gear can be, but I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonable and cheap it was to rent things! We waited for the bus to take us up to the resort and rode it up the glacier for about an hour before arriving at the lodge! As we were riding up, ...
