Our last off shore excursion! Arrived in Puerta Montt at 7am. It is an enclosed harbour. We anchored in the bay and went by tender to the jetty. It is always amazing that there are so many buses lined up waiting for us on the wharf. Chile has similar agriculture laws to NZ, so we had lots of reminders not to take fruit or veg ashore. As strange as it sounds, I had fun. Riding through a rainforest, at dusk and night, in torrential rain was quite an experience. The roadworks eventually cleared to beautifully groomed tarmac. As fog rose up from the road, I flew along and then down into the village.

After a good breakfast we had about an hour on deck watching the scenery and for wildlife before we tied up to the quay at a little fishing village called Port Aguire. The village e is one of three on this particular island which has a total population of about 2,000 people. Almost all its neighbouring islands are uninhabited.
