Our cruise started south on our way to Puerto Montt, but first we cruised the fjords. Much like the inside passage in Alaska, they were formed during the last ice age when glaciers cut deeply into the continent. When the ice age came to an end the glaciers retreated and their runoff formed a path to the sea creating deep fjords.
