... bus to David, it was plain sailing, so to speak. From David it was straight onto a bus to Paso Canoas, the town which straddles the border with Costa Rica. I got my stamp out of Panama then walked 100 metres or so to the Costa Rican Immigration office. I never knew in between which country I was in.

Immigration was easy, no queue, but I did have to fill in some useless bit of paperwork and buy a bus ticket ...

... of us. Strength in numbers! Got through the Nicaraguan boarder with no issue, onto Costa Rica. It's the weirdest setup - you've to walk 1km to the Costa Rica side, along with all the massive 10-wheeler articulated lorrys that are passing through. Til we eventually get to Costa Rica. Massssssive queues there but finally made it through and onto a bus to San Jose. Whoop. Costa Rica was literally going to be a pit stop on our way to Panama so we ...

... t the best place to be to be roaming around at night. After buying some more souvenirs, we headed back to our hotel for our last night in Costa Rica.

The following morning we woke up for an early breakfast, went to buy some last minute gifts, and headed out to the airport. About 4 blocks from our hotel was a direct shuttle bus that you can take from downtown San Jose to the airport for only $1! So worth it!!!!!!! Pura Vida Costa Rica! Until next time!

... hike! I went in anyway and asked, and the guy working there was a complete gem! He offered us a room for $40, they had a gym and a pool and hot water - heaven! Just out of curiosity we asked if we'd get a lower rate if we stayed two nights - yup! Lock us in brother!
