Welcome back! After 3 weeks of backpacking, hostels, tents, and constant movement, we spent our last week in one place - a nice, very comfortable condo by the beach. Our backpacking trip ended like our backpacking trips rarely do - with a little "fancy." San Jose (la, la, la, la, la) There isn't much to say about San Jose. We didn't have much time in the capital city as the plan was to rent a car and head west on Friday. We had one day to check out the city. Perhaps if ...

We spend a few hours on the beach because of course, it was Super Bowl Sunday, and we wanted to take advantage and watch the game somewhere. After a few ...

... is a lot for cheese but when you haven't had good cheese in four months and its the day after your *******n birthday you're allowed to spend $10 on cheese...ok! So that's dinner sorted for tonight. Slightly nervous that after two months of saying I'm going to treat myself to a cheese feast on my birthday it's going to be a huge disappointment. Still it's melted cheese (did I mention I'm baking it in the oven?) so it ...

Day 26: Back on the deep and search and recovery today! We did our briefing in the morning and I borrowed Martin's computer/watch, I think it's kind of expensive so I have to try and not break it, lose it, make it malfunction in anyway with my special Sarah Technology Skills. First up was deep and we are going to 40m today, which is the furthest you can go recreationally. If you want to get an idea of how deep that is just over the height of the Grand Central Station in New ...
