... upwards through hairpin bends, the side of the road covered with prickly pear, bougainvillea and oleanders. The jacaranda trees were in bloom in the city and the jacarandas here bloom twice a years here. The views as we drove along were great but nothing to see at the spot the bus dropped us, there were of course many stalls selling the usual souvenirs. We had 20 mins here and then we wound our way down again to visit the seaside town of Mondelo. We drove ...

We explored a little bit of this lovely little village and stopped for some lunch al fresco. We shared a simple pizza and had a half carafe of white wine. We slowly made our way back to where the bus would pick us up.

After getting off the bus we thought we'd go to ...

    ... without something in there.

We arrived in Palermo on schedule, 8:30. Easy Jet worked fine except for standing in lines to get boarded. We took a ride into town by local taxi. It didn't cost us any more than the bus, and we got dropped off about 2 blocks from our hotel. Had we taken the bus we would have needed a taxi from the train station.

Believe it our not our room was ready for ...
