... served to us by a very grumpy waitress, by the river. We gave her our bronze change as a tip- good way to get rid of it. Wasps were a constant threat throughout the meal, a few knocked over chairs and screams as the wasps flew near our meals. All tired when we got back and so ready to jump in the lake. After going back to the hostel for a bit we migrated to the lake. Swam and then sunbathed, think all of us may have slept. Lucy definitely slept, confirmed by her ...

... look like a right pair of skinhead Nazis. Hold on, we're not in Croatia yet...

...but we are definitely in slozny blob eastern European territory. Just by going through a tunnel we have entered a land totally incomprehensible by language and highly differentiated by accent. Because I refused to drive on the motorways so we could see more of Austria it took us from 10.15 till 5.15 pm to get to our destination. There was ...

... as Emma decided it would be too difficult without mules to carry ours bags and Lucy didn't seem to keen on taking up the role of chief mule so we ended up getting a 20 minute shuttle bus to Bled. Excited, checking in to our hostel because we knowingly booked the same hostel as Tabbi, Anna, Ellie and Naomi without them knowing. However Lucy and Emma ruined the surprise later on as they stood outside the supermarket, munching their purchases and ...

    My version of Villach

Sleeping well in the comfy bed and air conditioning, and deciding against fighting with the thousands of tourists to go up to the castle, Beaver made the most of the large selection on offer and had a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, then went on to the next stop Villach. The bus to Salzburg station left right outside the hotel and in no time Beaver had managed to get tickets for the train to Villach and the bus from Villach to Venice as that was direct ...
