... canals with an un-ashamed modern-day Venice feel to it. (Google Port Grimaud) It was quite pleasant. After a little re-hydration on the beach at an appropriate establishment, we wandered around the village on our bikes and eventually saw a very attractive restaurant right on the edge of the canal, and obviously popular as it was filling-up before our eyes. Check out the photos from the ship and photos from the 30th Wedding Anniversary surprise. Celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary in style = ...

    ... GPS warmed up.

As usual we did some researching before we left. We watched two beautiful documentaries (don't you just love YouTube) and I remembered things about Vincent that I had forgotten. His rapier like vision, his ability to turn old to new, his outrageous difference from all that had gone before. The documentaries explored his early religious connections, his family and of course the shining love of his brother, Theo. How many siblings fund the life ...

... in a new place is that around the 3 week mark homesickness starts to really kick in. This is the point where it feels like the "vacation" is over. It feels like you should be going home. This part of living somewhere new stinks. The pang of homesickness creeps up on you. Luckily I know to expect it, yes even I get homesick. As much as I love to travel I do miss my home. The streets, the river, my bed. haha. But I also know what I can do to not feel as homesick, go out ...
