... as I had The Police "Wrapped Around Your Finger" on endless loop in my head for the whole day. Its a big island, and we had 6 hours. We had booked an Etna tour before we left home, and I was hoping it was going to be ok. We hadn't used any of the cruise shore trips and I was dreading a day of standing in line with hordes of retiree age cripples shuffling about. Anyway, it was bloody awesome. The drive is like ...

And we did indeed start the day with a beautiful dawn. Ciao ...

... with their kids. So we have come to stay for two nights and will again stroll the streets and visit the ruins early in the morning before groups 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,and 8 arrive from the cruise ship.

There is no internet in our hotel room and I am sitting down in some chairs that Gary deems are totally uncomfortable...he is right. but as you can see the view from our room is why we are here.

      Ciao for tonight

... ailments. The only problem is that it stinks! We were warned that we must both do it, not just one of us... The sulphur fumes and rotten egg odour hit you as soon as you disembark, and get more intense as you reach the bubbling stretch of mud. You can buy a ticket for the mud for 2 euros, and pay an additional euro to get a shower token. Having come this far, it was an experience too rare to miss, though the smell was awful. It was a hot day - low 30s, and probably a lot higher out ...
