          ... 28 August
After some rude awakenings (not as many as yesterday but nevertheless) we ventured to
our next destination. This part of the Smeralda coast is just peppered with mega yachts with the occassional sailing yacht being tossed around in their wake.
We settled on anchoring in Calla di Volpe where there are lots of mega yachts anchored as well as a very expensive hotel with basic rooms starting from 1000 per night.
          We ...

Today we are going to Civita to see the Devils Bridge and also il Raganello the gorge in Civita. It's about a 40 min drive from Fagnano and is part of the Pollini mountains which is a national park.
We park the cars and begin our decent. I had advised everyone to wear comfortable shoes as the walk is a long and steep one. We didn't want to do the walk in the heat of the middle of the day like last time as it ...

We are very grateful for Judy and Pip Mitchell's invitation to join them on the boat.

... Who knows when it broke but thank goodness there wasn't a disaster in the Bay of Biscay! If we had gone past that point we would have had no steering and no way of fixing it!

So lovely Erich persuaded another man to weld the metal rod so we had to wait several more days for it to be completed and fitted. A pain but a very necessary pain.

Finally after 9 days in Arenal we set sail for Menorca. We had ...

Just checking that everyone is on the ball & spotted my deliberate error on the entry for Sardinia!

yep...Rig, instead of RIB which obviously stands for Rigid Inflatable Boat! Caused great hilarity from J...What have you written Mum?!

for those non horsey folks amongst you, a rig is a gelding who has stallion tendencies, & is therefore quite a familiar word to me as opposed to Rib!! Ha ha!
