Up and off on time. We road up and down a local road to warm up then we headed straight up to Sancerre, a hilltop, medieval village. It was 3kms up. I took it nice and steady and was able to achieve the climb without stopping or getting off.

What a wonderful spot! Narrow little streets, a wee square with cafes, patisserie surronding it. We sat and had a coffee to let the rest ...

... a seeming uphill climb against the wind. After leaving Barbizon, we rode through the former royal forest and passed in front of the Fontainebleu chateau again. With better weather, the crowds seemed greater. The sun was out and the castle more photogenic. I did what I so often do, I took more pictures.

... Latin Quarter, past Notre Dame, the Opera House, the Louvre and the Arc de Triomphe. We then headed on to Versailles after dropping off those not doing it at the Arc de Triomphe. Julien showed us around the castle of Versailles which was absolutely beautiful!!
