... We both chose the chicken fusilli, then the cafe gourmand, except I had tea Gourmand. With two Kir and a Coke we paid €51...our second dearest this holiday, but it was delicious. We found the MH aire at Watten, right beside the Bourgourg Canal. We could sit in the MH and watch enormous barges going by. Behind the aire is a smaller branch of the canal with cabin cruisers moored.

... a nose was quite the original. Primark jumpers are more common than I thought!! Luckily I haven’t worn my jumper and now I had no intention of doing so. I resorted to my contingency plan B and wore my Christmas penguin motif shirt instead!

... Spectacular. The next day hopped on our bikes to explore more of the city and were surprised to see it almost empty - it was Sunday and just about everything was closed. We had the place more or less had it to ourselves which was fantastic.
