Woke up at the crack of dawn after a good nights sleep today and had a good walk round to see the nearby sites. Even though it was early the fish market was in full swing and what a site to behold, fresh fish galore straight off the boat onto the quayside, 2 litres of Mussels Si Vous Plait ! - my kind of grocery shopping. We left Oslo at 5pm on Christmas Eve to travel the 757 nautical miles back to Southampton. We had now been at sea for 43hrs and at exactly noon on Boxing Day the officer of the Watch advised us of our position. We ...

Today we drove from Amsterdam to Calais to catch the Channel ferry to Dover. Took less than 2 hours and was a much better experience than the Greek ferry from Ancona to Patras. For a ferry, it was very well appointed ship. Not a bad day when you consider we covered or crossed 4 countries, Netherlands, Belgium, France and ...
