So it has been a few days since our last update.  After arriving back in France we stayed for 4 nights at the Chateau Canet near Rustiques.  Our favourite accomodation so far. Walked through the property, swam in the pool and played lots of tennis.  Also had a great wine tour from the owners.  The Chateau dates to the 12th C. and the owners are from Belgium but really take pride in the history and consider themselves caretakers.  Also they make some pretty good ...

... time we enjoy this tiny red rocked area. Day 3. We ride once more but this time back up the valley to Brusque a small village we couldn't visit in Elvis on the way down. He was too fat! We couldn't visit the ruins we'd seen from the road as they were in private hands but we did have a very nice cafe stop. I said, " well, we've seen loads of bikers en route and they were all young and the placards had a picture of a Wolfe looking dog on them"! I am beginning not to like some French Maires attitudes. Largely due to the fact that they poke ...

... The Tarn. Castres arrived and once parked up in our medico Aires I shot into town to get my bike sorted. Kate Sippetts where are you when I need you? My French is appalling. I fumbled my way through some very basic hand jesters plus a bit of Le Tour De France commentary until the bike man got the idea and fixed my wobbly wheel, my knackered front brake and my juddering head set. Old Thorney the Touring machine is now fully capable of the next Cols I dare ...

Beautiful morning for a walk around the streets & local vineyards - we're even getting very fluent with our Bonjours to locals we pass by on our way.Lazy day spent reading and staying cool as very hot day. Madame Susee had her hair stylishly quaffed at the local hairdressers ( very brave we thought due to language barrier - however all turned out well!). Early night had by all to be up bright and early tomorrow for winery tour around the ...
