They were staying at a hotel where there friends were staying but we sorted out a cheap room for 400 rupees a night which was a bit of a walk away but right in the centre and near where I was staying before. ... packed with temples. But it was the lovely narrow, winding backstreets that gave this town a special quality. We managed to get ourselves horrendously lost trying to follow a walking tour of the city – I would not let it defeat me, but in the end it did. The streets were just too all over the place to try and navigate sensibly. After a bit of shouting, we let it go and enjoyed the rest of the day doing our own walking tour.
