... thousands ( I believe we were told there are 7000 on one of the temples) of hand carved figures both G and X rated that make up the exterior walls of the temple. There is no mortar between the stones so the temple can be dismantled and reassembled if necessary. They used this technique to repair one of the temples that was leaning. It is an amazing example of engineering.
