With a long drive ahead of us we got up reasonably early so the day wasn't taken completely with driving. Happy Fathers Day Kerry and Dad. Kerry got good wishes from all his children which made his day. It was going to take us four or so hours to drive to the other coast and we actually had a pretty clear run through mainly I think because its Sunday. No toll roads were taken but it was still good driving, not ...

Boiled the kettle (aka saucepan) for our first cup of tea. It's cold!! The rain only got heavier, so we decided to give the ride a miss and go for a Wienerschnitzel instead! After lunch we walked to another cafe to use their wifi. We started with hot chocolate and apple strudel, and finished with a beer! After dinner we chatted again with Adele and Trevor, then we watched a movie in bed! It's so ...

We got up early and did a 50km loop before the forecast storms. Was a lovely ride! We went over Passo Compolongo (opposite direction), Passo Falzarego and Passo Valparola. We snoozed when we got back to the van and had some warm left over curry for lunch. In the afternoon we spent time trying to fix the laptop, wandered through town and had a beer and a spritz before heading back to the van for dinner. It's bitterly cold! Bring back the hot days and balmy ...

... all the wonderful things we would like to buy (!) and found a couple of local treats including cheese and yoghurt. By the time we hiked back to the van it was 7.30pm. Where did the day go?! We had a platter of cheese, speck, crackers, carrots and apple for dinner, followed by our local Dolomites yoghurt. It's cold tonight!! Almost need to invest in a hot water ...

... s there from the North Africa campaign. It housed up to 3000 prisoners It is now a museum. We arrived back at the hotel about 4pm and rested till about 6 when Derek and I went shopping. The locals were out strolling as usual. We met the group at 6.30 for an early dinner at a bar as no restaurants open till after 8pm and some wanted an early night for packing. The food was ordinary but the chatter was fun. Derek's favourite - hot meat and ...
