We were planning to go to Liechtenstein but thought we may as well as it was sort of on our way. It's the worlds 6 smallest country so it would have been rude not to go..haha.
We didn't drive to the main town but to another.. where really there wasn't anything. I did get a photo with the tourist sign though. Had to somehow prove I'd been there!

... can watch all the processes they go through to make the cheese, which was pretty interesting! We watched the cheese-makers go through all the processes for quite a while and had a drink at in the restaurant before going back to Gossau for an authentic cheese Fondue!
We got up early the next morning and said goodbye to Heinz and Elsa, and caught our 1st train to get to Prague. It took us about 10.5 hours to get there.. LOOOOOONG time sitting on trains!!
Our third stop of the day was our first in Austria. Now I was entering undiscovered lands! Feldkirch is right on the Switzerland border. The old town centre is surrounded by towers, and a castle sits on a hill above.
We explored Feldkirch and a few of its towers. The old town is quite charming with its colorful buildings, trickling fountains, and small shops. When we tried to ...

It was time for food so we found a little cafe and had a bite to eat before tracking down my parents again. They were hungry because they had been waiting for us before they ate (oops!) so we returned to the same cafe and they had a quick meal before we returned to the car. Next stop: Austria!
Work has been quite slow lately so since I had nothing better to do today, I took a train to Sargans, Switzerland, and then waited for a bus to Vaduz, Liechtenstein. I missed the bus that left 4 minutes after I arrived. By missed, I mean I couldn't find it until I saw it driving past me. And there are only two or three bus stands in Sargans at the train station, so it was completely due to a lack of intelligence on my part.
Once I ...

St. Gallen, St. Gallen, Switzerland amy_hanen... to stay in in St. Gallen. The older couple we stayed with were very nice and we were excited to have a kitchen. We were able to cook a bit and enjoy some of our own cooking. We were not overly impressed with the city of St. Gallen, except for the old city. The church and abbey library were amazing. It is like no library you have ever seen before. We decided to head up to the hills of Appenzell, where we were supposed to ...
St. Gallen, Switzerland charliekelliToday we drove to Lindau, Germany, and did our own walking tour. Lindau is an island in the eastern part of Lake Constance. It was quite overcast, but still lovely. I'm sure that on a warm summer day it would be filled with people sitting in the sun and enjoying all the open air cafes.
Then we were off around the lake ...
