... philosophy and courteous, helpful nature all make this country an interesting and relatively easy country to visit despite the language barrier. Plus, there is a wide selection of accommodation available although, lately with the weak yen, Japan has become a popular tourist destination for visitors from China, Taiwan and Thailand which has made it harder to reserve rooms in business hotels which I generally like to stay in.

... of the Kanto plain which comprises Greater Tokyo, home to about 35 million people, it takes about 5 to 6 km to get to the countryside. As I said the other day, Iiyama was a perfect experience and it may be sometime before I feel that way again. I may have been spoiled for life and nothing else will compare.

The setting of the inn, the cool mountain air, the taste of the rice, the hot onsen baths after a long, hard ride and so many other things unique to this inn but also reflective of Japanese customs and society, I was growing used to them and it would be sad to leave this place. Although I have not yet concluded my trip, I know already this will be the highlight of my time in Japan.

I was pretty bummed but then when I saw where we were situated I got quite excited! We were right where the fighters do their walkout! It was so interesting watching them standing there waiting to walk out. Some where nervous. Some where stone faced and others were down right excited and jumping for joy. The fights were thrilling. ...

... setting and countless perfect food items. This is a must do for anyone near Tokyo. I think there are places where you can order the chanko nabe (stew) on its own but the degustation menu is divine. We slowly waddled on home and started packing as we were heading to Saitama tomorrow. I honestly think that today was my favourite day in Japan in all three trips! Truly so thankful to have the opportunity to travel to this beautiful ...
