Got up reasonably early to visit Carcassonne, a medieval town that is a Unesco World Heritage site. Boasting a huge fortified castle with ramparts, and a separate outer wall for protection surrounding the old town. Once on the border of France and Spain the chateau et Remparts, had many uses over the year. One afternoon we drove 20 minutes to Plateau de Beille and it was like a Winter Wonderland. We were above the tree line and there was thick white snow as far as you could see. We had hot chocolates and chocolate crepes in the restaurant at the top and while Sam & Amandine went cross-county skiing, we took the boys for a walk ...

... but OK until this morning, when the sun came out and the ski fields called. is better than any of our photos. Immense place, and great skiing. Enough said. Tonight (29th) back for another go at the buffet, and then head back to the UK tomorrow, via overnight train.
Have a work for accom (HelpX) job in Cornwall starting Jan 2nd, so will let you know how things go.
